Reference "Les Insignes des Forces Armees au Cambodge" by Marcel Duflot, L'Association Symboles et Traditions, Paris, 2002,  no. 59.  The battalion arrived in Indochina 25 March 1947; in 1948 it was redesignated as a regiment, keeping the same insignia.  In 1950 the "Portes" was removed from the designation. The unit was dissolved 30 June 1954 (and reconstituted in Algeria in 1955 "a pied" = on foot, to serve as infantry).
